Cycle to Work is a government scheme, aimed at making cycling more affordable and accessible to employees who can save up to 42% on a bike and accessories. Manageable payments are taken tax efficiently from your salary by your employer over a 12 month period. You’ll enter into a hire agreement with your employer or cycle to work provider, who own the bike for the period of the agreement. You then have the option to purchase the bike when the scheme ends for a fraction of the cost.
No limit on what you spend
Cycle to Work is no longer capped at £1,000. Employees can now save on the exact bike, components and accessories they want. This exciting new change in legislation has removed the £1000 limit for bikes under the Governments Cycle to Work initiative, so employers can now apply to have no limit on the value of certificates issued to employees.
Save up to 42% on a new bike for work
Tax is complicated; the cycle to work scheme is not. The saving is achieved by paying for the bike and/or accessories directly from your gross salary (before tax). This means that your income tax and national insurance is calculated on the reduced amount of salary, so the amount of tax and national insurance you pay is less.
How it works
Step 1
Choose your bike and/or equipment
Simply browse and choose your bike or call in and we’ll help you to choose the right bike and equipment for you. We’ll give you a quotation so you can go away and make your application.
Step 2
Request your cycle to Work certificate
Once you’ve chosen your items, you can then go back to your employer and request a certificate equal to the value of your order. We accept certificates from the providers below. If yours isn’t there please contact us.
Step 3
Receive your certificate
Waiting for your certificate can take anything from a few days to a few weeks. When your provider has issued your certificate, call us and we can put your order together. If your bike and accessories are in stock we can do this right away.
Step 4
Collect your bike
Once your bike is ready, we’ll give you a call. Bring your certificate and ID along and we can redeem it for you in store. Your bike will be all built and ready to ride away with any accessories fitted. In 8 weeks’ time, you can call back for your first free service.
